A Financial Aid Crisis: My Academic Career in Jeopardy. What should I do?

I am not happy about the news I received from the financial aid office at school today. The situation presented immediately poses a major road block that will have a negative impact on my remaining courses. Of course, when I asked the F.A. rep, why wasn't I informed about my loan ending at some point in my academic career much sooner, she simply stated "We'll just have to talk more about it on Tuesday." My blood pressure is through the roof and my level of frustration and anger is beyond me and my patience is just about gone.

 

I decided to go back to school to obtain the educational background to supplement my professional experience and to be in a better position to support myself and to give back to my mom and family and friends for believing in me. The years I've invested by way of sacrificing my 'me' time, limiting my social interactions which includes family time, just to be told today that my graduation date is totally dependent upon my ability to pay $20,000 for the next 2 years (with $7,000 due by 4/1/13), is devastating.

 

The government apparently believes that I have that kind of money stored someplace ready to spend. If I had it, my debt would have been paid off, I would be finishing school this year instead of 2 1/2 years from now, the money would have been there to prevent my mom from going through what she went through in 2011, and I wouldn't have an unhappy mister at home, blaming me for all of his financial troubles and complaining to me about the money I'm not bringing to the table.

 

Anyone would think, gee, Victoria, you don't have any children and you have a decent paying job, you shouldn't be experiencing this kind of hardship/roadblocks. Well I truly wish it were the case, but it isn’t. It seems as though that I'm being constantly punished for doing good. My mom said to me once, "It's so easy to do wrong and engage in all things thereof, but when you want to do good, then life becomes a struggle."

 

Venting via internet forums/blogs is something I try to avoid, but why not shed light on what I'm currently facing in 'real time'. Maybe anyone of you can see this from a different spectrum and can either relate to this note or shed some light on some possible solutions or alternatives that will help me make a more informed decision for it is needed RIGHT NOW! I already endured a financial loss in losing one car, obtaining another, health expenses, an increase in payroll tax and now this.

I wish I had the right secular answers to give you I don’t. Here is what I know from watching God move in situations that humans deem dire. Where is your seed-tithe money if you have tithed it is your harvest that you and only you must tell to come forth now. God already gave you interest on your tithing if you have and that money can and shall return back to you 30, 60, or 100 fold. Then again he can move on someone known or not to you to give you more than enough. Either way you should have placed him first and consulted him before you went to school and while you are at school. Now as dumb as you think this sounds God only shows up where he is invited. We don’t know one another personally but I know his word works for anyone that believes…..

Maybe you can get something from the state you reside in since it sounds like you were given wrong information...Also if you can , contact an attorney..That may or may not solve your problem but you don't know if you don't ask...Contact your state rep., your state senator , and your local reps to see if there is any grant money or no-interest loan out there....Best of luck to you and hang in there...
