Black Republicans

On a Mission to Raise the Value of Black America's Political Capital

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes that you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, l952-----

What has happened to the GOP..?? Most people on this site ask me why would I come to a Black republican site...Well , after Reagan supported Apartheid along with many other republicans such as McCain and Cheney , I didn't see any reason to vote for the GOP until I saw a change in the way they treated people..These quote by President Eisenhower would have labled him a "RINO" in todays republican party...Where does all this hatred and evil come from...??

Awesome question,

First, I don't believe any party feels they can get rid of those programs, however they do feel some need to be changed to make them less costly and more efficient. How we do that is certainly up for discussion, both parties probably have good ideas. I think libertarians would get rid of those programs but they may have other good ideas. I'm all for calling any member of any party out who is racist both parties are certainly guilty. But race is not every issue, nor should it be.

We both know that our government supports other governments even when they disagree with the human rights in those countries hence china is a favored nation because they led us money, and the new Middle East is turning towards the Muslim brotherhood but we still support them. For instance we are giving Egypt planes and tanks.

But if we as blacks are ever going to see change in our communities there is much more we need to do, and being completely tied to one party isn't the answer. We need to have honest conversations about our community problems and realize where we are to blame. Every person in the hood know which house is the drug house, and who commits crime such as murder but we " won't snitch". We need to get serious about education as a people, serious about keeping money in our community, serious about getting respect back in our youth, and stop blaming the "white man" for all our problems.

Thanks for the question, now I have one...why don't you post a picture?

Martin

Like others on this site  I don't need to post a picture and I choose not to....I find it interesting that you claim to call out racists in the democrat or republican party yet seem to ignore the racist behavior of the GOP..Among other acts of racism Voter suppression against YOUR people was done by the GOP yet you still ignore it....Therefore I can't agree with your notion of calling out any racists...I will agree that our community needs to be more responsible..Politicians cannot do that for us

Jack, because I'm not on here saying racist this, or racist that has nothing to do with wether I call out racism. This is not that forum, however I'm on several other social networks. Not to mention being a person who will call congressmen, and women, and also make post on sites I see it on. However, I don't see the voter suppression, please give me a clear example of how you feel we've been suppressed? I voted and all the blacks I know voted. Almost 90% for Obama.

I gave you and the "other" marine examples of that already...So why are you running in circles and acting like a wimp...???..I thought marines were such tough guys..why disappoint eveyone on public access...??..So let's try this again..

"By the way , can you tell me why Black people should vote for a party that tries to suppress their vote...????."

Here we go, can't make a valid argument without insulting someone. Well your lack of etiquette is of no concern. I ask though, are blacks the only people who live in a urban cities? Are we the only people who don't have ID, are young and in college? Are we the only race with elderly who may have no valid DMV ID? If not then these laws cannot be solely aimed at blacks, because they make it more difficult for any race who has these issues.

I believe both parties use many of these tactics to confuse the others party voters, both dem and repub.

Lastly,

I don't believe you are a black man. I really don't, that's my opinion but I think you're a white liberal who thinks he/she has found a way to tie up our time and energy with what you feel is a slick argument.

That's why I asked for a posted picture.

However you do have a right to privacy, I agree

LOL..I don't think you are only one person...But that's another discussion..Like I said many times I merely state facts and I am surprised that you call yourself a Marine but can't answer a simple question..You are acting like a wimp...sorry but that's just the truth..The proof is right in front of you but you refuse to acknowledge it...Well that doesn't change the fact that most people with a little honesty and common sense know that the GOP tried to suppress the Black vote..They even admitted it and I posted links that show republicans admitting it on video but you still defend and protect this racist behavior like you are on their plantation...WAKE UP , GROW UP and be man enough to face reality....As before ...I will try again...

"By the way , can you tell me why Black people should vote for a party that tries to suppress their vote...????."

Note: the question is not Voter ID it is voter suppression....there is a difference...

So by your own test since democrats suppressed the black vote for 100 yrs why vote for them?

Nice weak attempt at a white flag but weak is not good enough..When did I ever say that the democrats suppressed the Black vote for 100 years...?? ..The question is who is suppressing the vote now ...actually for the past 20 years...???...It's amazing how much of a wimp you are with this simple question...With that cowardly attitude one might say that you are a disgrace to the uniform....But I;ll try again...

I don't think the GOP has lost its way but it is clear why the GOP may not be as popular for those that have put their faith in man and his views of the world in which we all live. I learned in 3rd grade that the Democratic Party would embrace any ideology if it brought in votes. Senator John Kennedy was no friend to civil rights or blacks. Running for President and once he was elected, the black vote was needed so, the switch was on. Many felt that John Kennedy saw the light and that led to the switch to his support of blacks but black votes were needed to over take the GOP. The Democratic Party is still working feverishly to suppress or otherwise rewrite history because many don't know the history so, they believe anything they hear that doesn't require much thought. Knowledge is power and there is no substitute for a brain that is being exercised with much reading. I think this is when the Dixie Democrats blossomed into what we see today as the modern day Democratic Party. Do some research on when blacks started falling off the wagon of risking life and limb chasing higher education, critical thinking, freedom thinking with a desire to learn to advance. The list goes on and on. Critical thinking blacks like what you would find here as Black Republicans are mocked and ridiculed because we believe that the mind is a terrible thing to waste, a wife and family is to be cherished, God shall not be mocked and his work is for ever and not a matter of convenience. Research the plight of blacks in this country before the modern "show me your ignorance and I will promise you all the hope you can handle" generation. Yes, blacks have been promised hope for well over a 150 years yet, it continues to elude those that follow the dream of those making promises they could not nor have any intentions of ever keeping. There is nothing exemplary about the Democratic Party  that the Republicans need to embrace. Moreover, blacks are leaving the Democratic Party in large numbers and returning to the Republican party (see drop in blacks supporting the re-election). I think you can figure out which race is being courted now by the Democratic Party.

Black Christians are now UNDERSTANDING that the Democratic Party is diametrically opposed to everything they are taught in church, from the Bible, standard of living, abortions etc. The only hope we need is in God and ourselves to push forward.

Hey Jack, I just joined and already responding to three of your messages. I enjoy a healthy debate.

I mentioned the lack of critical thinking in the Democratic Party in one of my earlier reply's but it will apply here as well. Let's look at it this way: a critical thinker would take TODAY to prepare for any upcoming election and ensure his credentials and voter registration card is ready and available. I registered to vote at the age of 18 in 1979, served in the Military and lived in 3 different states but still saw it as my duty and responsibility to ensure I had what was needed in order to vote (even when I was over seas during an election). Not being a critical thinker tells you to do absolutely nothing for yourself but find excuses to blame others for what you did not do. The many stories I've heard of voter suppression came from folks that admitted that they did not get the requirements for voting in a particular election. My home state requires me to show a valid ID. smile..... this is no laughing matter but it would really bother me if my political party always described my lack of effort as if I don't have the brains to get a valid ID with my home address. How much respect does your party show for your intelligence, preparation for voting and actual voting? Frankly, I think you are the only one that can suppress your vote due to a laxity attitude towards the privilege of voting.

First of all Black people are not running to the GOP...Obama got 95% of the Black vote in 2008 and 93% of the Black vote in 2012..The 2% that Romney got was not due to Black cemocrats but Black republicans who still did not vote 100% for Romney...Obama got at least 40% of the Black republcan vote so I disagree with your opinion on this..Most Black people do not agree with same sex marriage or abortion...BUT..both republican and democratic women get abortions..that's not going to change no matter what party you're in...I honestly believe that most women will give up sex before they give up abortions..That's really sad and it's more of an indictmernt on the society than anything else...Remember the republican national committee had abortion in their healthcare plan at one time so this is really a bi-partisan issue..

Personally I don't agree with abortion or same sex marriages but with abortion they are exceptions..The problem that I and most Black peope have with the GOP is their intense racism...Look at the tea party that even turned off some Black conservatives..Some of their rallies where used as recruiting places for white supremacists groups , serveral white supremacists ran as republucans in the last election , some white supremacist leaders were invited to speak at a CPAC event that also invited 4 GOP presidential candidates , the GOP admittied to trying to supress the Black vote ( again)...The GOP also lies too much to be taken seriously..The birther idiots and the "Obama is a communist" crowd does not address any issues or solve any problems..All this does is paint the GOP as a bunch if redneck nutcases with their ears pinned to the likes of nazis  ( yes I said it ) like Rush Limpballs , Ann Coulter , Sean Hannity , Micheal Medved etc...

At some point you have to be honest about what the GOP is doing , that's what Colin Powell did and now some Black conservatives are calling him a traitor ..BUT..to support a party that is engaged in intense raicsm is not being a traitor..??Now I posed serveral questions to all readers on this site and I have yet to get as straight answer...Why is that..?? Why do some Black conservatives ignore what is going on in the GOP..Because as you see the GOP is still at their old tricks by trying to change the electoral count in some states but not in other states..Is cheating the only way ther GOP can win..This is also a reason why most minorites don't support the GOP...Please be honest about this and let's deal with current events because we can't get a time machine to punish anyone 60-100 years ago...

I'll start with this question....

"By the way , can you tell me why Black people should vote for a party that tries to suppress their vote...????."

The voter suppression tactics did not only iniolve voter ID so you moght want to research that...AND critical thinking Black people that needed IDs got their IDs and voted "IN MASS" for Obama...They waited in line for hours , they made sure other people voted , in other words the GOP woke up a sleeping Black vote block with their racist nonsense....Now the point is very simple..Yhe GOP tried to syppress the Black vote eother with the IDs or other means so as a Critical thinker...why would you expect Black people to support the GOP

Note: the GOP also placed billborads in Black communities that said it was a felony for voting without an ID....problem with that is those billboards didn't explain the fact that voter IDs were not needed in those states ala Pennsylvania...Tell me if you are thinking "critically"...Would you vote for a party that does that to your people...???
