Black Republicans

On a Mission to Raise the Value of Black America's Political Capital

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes that you can do these things. Among them are a few Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or businessman from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, l952-----

What has happened to the GOP..?? Most people on this site ask me why would I come to a Black republican site...Well , after Reagan supported Apartheid along with many other republicans such as McCain and Cheney , I didn't see any reason to vote for the GOP until I saw a change in the way they treated people..These quote by President Eisenhower would have labled him a "RINO" in todays republican party...Where does all this hatred and evil come from...??

My position hasn't changed on any of my post Jack.

1. I don't believe anyone can suppress or block you from doing anything you are determined to do. Now the issue with voters in states not requiring a valid ID only make blacks like they lack the competence to get a valid ID for any reason. This can be viewed as an unintended consequence but it is a fact. Voter Fraud speaks to this and its not unreasonable to expect able body adults to prove they are voters of the state and location for which they appear.

2. As a son and father, I was not raised to look for excuses in order to either succeed nor did I raise my kids to think that way. Your success and failures rest with you. My issue with the Democratic party has nothing to do with Obama because I have never supported the Democratic Party regardless of the candidate. Its amazing how Democrats want to school everyone on why we should embrace Mr. Hope and Change. Mr. Obama changes nothing for values the platform support. I provided that list to you earlier and its never changed in since I was 7 when I really started looking deeper into the world of politics. I guess I spent to much time watching the many marches, riots, death and funeral of Dr. King to act like issues today would eventually affect me tomorrow. Now critical thinking would benefit all in this regard because you are well verse on all positions and not just the position of your guy.

3. Critical thinking should be second nature to all of us but since we are discussing our people, I will keep the focus on blacks. I spent 27 years working as a Software Engineer before retiring at the age of 50. There were (still are) massive recruitment efforts for Engineers and Computer Scientists in the dynamic world in which we live. Now, you are welcome to argue that critical skills is not essential to this field but I can assure you that the Engineering competition from around the world are critical thinkers and they are picking up these high paying jobs Jack. These are 100k + jobs that very few of our people can do or put forth the effort to do. My retirement and planning on my part was a major effort carried out and this is why I do not have to work today. I planned my life to NOT need any type of government assistance and I succeeded in that area. My youngest became home owner at the age of 19 (not renter) but home owners. No, I didn't provide a dime towards that effort but I did instill a value system that would sustain today and tomorrow. I don't like excuses so I tend to not make them. Many middle class folks will wake up one day in retirement in poverty Jack. The Democratic approach of hope and change doesn't have any sustaining power for this group. You asked what did the Republicans do for us over the last 13 years? Since you asked, 2 additional college degrees for me, 3 degrees between my kids, successful investments and I didn't have to sacrifice a single principle to get there. I'm a Republican so, I guess you can say that is what they did for me because it didn't suppress or block anything. You can get a lot done in 13 years.

I am not saying any of this to boast and it is not to offend anyone. I needed to point out to you that NOTHING under the republican platform spelled disaster for me or my family and my own life is a testament to that.

Glenn Beck is a Libertarian Talk Show Host that may exercise his 1st Amendment Right as quickly as a Democrat and Republican. I think I pointed out earlier in one of these messages that I am and always have been an avid reader Jack. I really don't need to defer any logic, reasoning or understanding to any talking heads.

I have one question for you.

Do you have any proof that the Democratic platform to putting Americans back to work, the so called middle class bargain or the economy built to last dream ever worked without requiring individual effort and commitments? Also, you wont be answering the question if you go with the normal "Obama can do it if" line.

Success will following the hard working, prepared and determined and these points are not interdependent of each other. Facts Jack.

Let's get something straight...your personal history does not interest or impress me..So you can save the family tree shaking for a family reunion....

The question I asked was ..

What has the GOP done for the country in the last 13 years...???

Notice I didn't ask what you or your family did but what has the republican leadership done for the country...You are not in government ...you are not in congress ..therefore your story has no bearing on the question...It's interesting that you continue to deflect the question so you don't have to answer it...that's cool if you like running away from things and that's also weak if you can't face certain realities ...So you really didn't answer the question so maybe you can try again...

What has the GOP done for the country in the last 13 years...???

As far as voter suppression you're not listening.so I'll try this again...REPUBLICANS ADMITTED USING VOTER SUPRESSION AGAINST BLACK VOTERS...Now "think" about what that means...because nwo you are just making excuses for republicans...why..?? do they have photos of you with midgets or something..??..The GOP tried more then just voter IDs...tell you what ...since you say you read so much look up the names Clint Curtis , Bruce Funk amd Athan Gibbs...

Now back to my question...

How can you expect Black voters to vote for republicans when rtepublicans admitted using voter supression against Black voters...???

When Obama took office the country was losing over 700,000 jobs per month...Now the country is adding jobs and we are not at the brink of a depression...That are the facts..what has the GOP done ...??

You didn't answer this either....

Note: the GOP also placed billborads in Black communities that said it was a felony for voting without an ID....problem with that is those billboards didn't explain the fact that voter IDs were not needed in those states ala Pennsylvania...Tell me if you are thinking "critically"...Would you vote for a party that does that to your people...???

Hey Jack, why don't you continue to cling to hope and change?
I really hope that work out for you and all folks still clinging to that. I hope you enjoy the many forums on this site because there is so much for all to learn. Word of advice though; your negtiating skills and debating fundamentals need some work. Negotiating and debating skills is acquired via learning and learning by understanding. I wanted to point that out if your handlers ask you why you do a poor job at getting Republicans to run and jump off the cliff with those of you that believe all your hope for change lives at 1600 Pennsylvania avenue.

I respect your position with total disagreement and I believe my life will be fine if you disagree with me.

Regards

In other words ...you don't have the courage to answer the questions...I thought you were different and at the very least ...somewhat honest..But you seem to fall into the same trap that many other Black republicans fall in...You are not willing to face the truth about the racism and total incompetence of the GOP..That's cool but you and I both know that you have dodged the truth ...coming from someone that claims to be such a Christian is sad at best...But good luck in your right wing dream world...

By the way , I'm not trying to get anybody to jump off a cliff but you most admit I have caused some questions in the minds of every republican on this site...The fact that they don't admit it is not my problem..I merely state facts and to ignore those facts makes a person look foolish...but some of you get that honestly...
