On a Mission to Raise the Value of Black America's Political Capital

So African Americans and Women's unemployment rises, Blame Bush?

So if the candidate that you chose because he "understands" your race or gender still has done nothing to reduce your unemployment nor has his party, should you change parties, or Blame ?

Politics: Unemployment jumps for women and African Americans

Published by: Robert Laurie on Friday January 4th, 2013

By ROBERT LAURIE - You get what you vote for....

Women and minorities. If the post-election breakdown is to be believed, that's who put Obama back in office. African-Americans and females refused to vote for Romney, so the status quo was maintained.

Surely, with the election turning out exactly as they hoped, they're thrilled with today's job numbers.

According to the new data, the overall unemployment rate stayed at 7.8 in December, but jobless numbers for African-Americans and women jumped sharply.

Female unemployment went from 7% to 7.3% while African-American unemployment skyrocketed almost a full point - from 13.2% in November to 14% today.

The news is even worse for young people, aged 18-29. Their overall unemployment rate swelled to 11.5%, while young African-American unemployment is positively staggering at 22.1%

Interestingly, December usually features a large number of temporary jobs connected with the holidays, and they tend to most heavily benefit the aforementioned groups. The fact that African-Americans actually saw a decrease in overall employment (from 16 million to 15.8 million) during the fiscal year's busiest season is deeply troubling.

Unless, of course, you voted for the President because you like things this way. In that case, there's nothing to see here.

First of all you need to stop lying about the military vote clsaim..I posted the factsd for sa second time so you can't use that weak excuse to pardon the GOP for trying to suppress the Black vote...The economy performs better under democratic presidents...Look it up..Abortion and Gay marraige are both choices...Choices that both republican and democrats make..The GOP has done very little for the country in the last 13 years ..What republican ideas helped the country let alone help Black people..??..Bush was a total disaster as a president and you expect the vboting public to return to that...Nice try but the fact remains the GOP knew their record was awful , that's why they tried to "steal" the election like they did in 2000..

Also let's deal with current events and stop whining about the racist democrats of 50-100 years ago..Right now in the post 2012 election you have republicans admitting voter suppression against Black voters ( other voters were also affected but that's another discussion ) . Therefore the question is never foolish because the Black electorate will decide their vote partly based on the fact...So once again , I'll try to summon some courage from you if you have any....

Now the question I posed to you was ...

"By the way , can you tell me why Black people should vote for a party that tries to suppress their vote...????."

PS..The real sad thing is that you will defend the racist practices of the GOP and still hold the moronic belief that Black people can not see through that...As long as the GOP has the same views that you have concerning the minority vote , it may be 20 years before the GOP gets in the white house again...

I said both parties seek to find ways to mitigate the others base, ie we both know democrats try to suppress the military vote. Suppression then is a part of the game although it shouldn't be. However if republican ideas can help blacks more than democrat ideas in the long run, ie small business ownership, not just govt jobs, or self control and morals not abortions and free birth control, then that is why "Blacks should vote republican". If more blacks looked at the issues and voted for whomever lined up with their beliefs and needs then republicans would not see them as a sold out to "the second coming" of BO or Barry Sotello and this would be a moot point.

The problem with your question, is its foolish and the same question can be asked about the Democratic Party which suppressed the black vote for yrs, and more overtly.

Ok I'm done lets move on

Martin you will spend your time better watching lead paint dry in a windowless room without a respirator than trying to get your point across to those drunk from the Liberal Kool-Aid.

I agree Ernest.

And what point is that Amos......????( your alter-ego is Andy)...That you Black conservatives are afraid of the truth about your beloved GOP...You are such a coward ...let's try again shall we...
