Black Republicans

On a Mission to Raise the Value of Black America's Political Capital

The Tactics of Change: The Conservative Movement

Consider these basic facts:

1. There are 313,234,618 Americans; 12.85% are Black Americans, therefore we represent approximately 40,250,648 Black Americans, total.

2. Trying to turn the Black vote back to conservative politics is like trying to turn a Sherman Tank with a gypsy tow truck [sorry, old cop analogy].

3. If we focused the bulk of our efforts on 1/4 of our population then we might be able to affect a change, gradually, and sustainably.  Therefore if we started with two conservative states like Texas [2,979,598 Black Americans] and Florida [2,999,862 Black Americans]; and to liberal states California [2,299,072 Black Americans] and New York [3,073,800 Black Americans], we could begin the reclaimation of 11,352,332 over the next eight years.

4. Black America is more conservative than any other culture in America...period.

The Point:

Black America merely wants an invite back to the GOP table, so why don't we as Black American conservatives extend the invite.  This way we return to the GOP on our terms...not anyone elses.

Just a thought my peops.

Thomas,

Yes I can be honest and you are absolutely right.  Where racism exists, we need to paint it florescent red and call it by its loathesome name; ignorance.  Ron Paul allowed his newsletter to say that 95% of Black men in Washington DC had criminal records.  That's racist...paint him red.  Sean Hannity's identification of President Obama's flawed past is a little to personal for me.  I'm not quite sure yet, but Sean may need a painting also.

The New Black Panther Party announcing bounty's on Zimmerman, decrying his race as opposed to his crime is racist.  Paint them red.  Zimmerman...paint him.  Sharpton, Jackson, and the NAACP...paint, paint, paint.

Racism is a plague that is neither useful to us now, nor sufficient to uplift those that come after us.  You and I can set the goals for the Black community...unilaterally, and affirmatively find the party, people, or group that will deliver upon our goals.  I am conservative so my first stop is here.  Black people who aspire to more and have likeminded conservative traits.  After that...we take our GOP back.

Talk at you later Brotha man,

Grant

As I've said before, I don't have the time to agrue with you for the sake of arguing.  You may think we don't get it, but we simply do not agree with your way of thinking.  You're a bright man, and I respect you, but we are looking forward; not forgetting the past, but focusing on positive ways to approach the future.

For my sake, if you are looking for a fight and derogatory debate, I'm not interested.  So Brotha, lets keep it positive and productive.

Either way, this thread is about a discussion about positive tactics and precepts that will advance Black America.  What can we do for our future?  Our children's future?  Our grand kids?  My suggestion is that we embody conservatism and the strengthening of our family units.

You hit the nail on the head.  We need a new batch of talented, aggressive Black Leaders that will not take any prisoners.  We need to lean and mean.  Innovative and intelligent.  We have to accept that half of the Black community does NOT want to thrive and they won't be conservative until they see that it works.  It will take the next forty years, two generations, to change the mentality of Black America and we are wasting time.

Piss on allegations of racism and to the devil with entitlements.  We must stand and demand our own survival.  It is this urgent.  There is no great White Boogie man, lerking in the shadows; and President Obama can never give us enough hand-outs to satisfy our needs.

Langston Hughes and W.E.B. DuBois wrote about the Talented Tenth that will lead Black society...we need to awaken that top ten of Black America.

You are correct, I know there are some black conservative groups out there but I'm not sure if they are "aggressive" enough to reaching out to the black community. In a time where nearly 50% of black students ARE NOT graduating high school and despite the fact that blacks are a major minority in America, our black men DOMINATE the jails and prisons, something must be done to address these issues.

Majority of the "black leaders" are highly progressive liberals and when they gather, their usual "solutions" to the problems is that the government needs to spend more money on domestic programs such as education, welfare, etc., and that's going to help the problem. The issue here is that number one, the government can't afford the programs already in place and if we keep going with the CURRENT spending levels the country will be bankrupt in 20 years. But another point is that we ALREADY spend on education, welfare, etc., and the numbers are getting worse.

The fact of the matter is that the worst districts in our country are controlled by liberal Democrats, in these districts you have more crime, high school drop outs, higher rates of teenage pregnancy and higher rates of black unemployment than in ANY OTHER district in the country.

The failure of the black community is directly tied to liberalism and progressives, understand this is drastically different than when black people gathered to march for civil rights. Civil rights wasn't about welfare, more spending, liberalism or socialism, the civil rights movement was about the CONSTITUTION. Every man (regardless of race, gender, creed) is created EQUAL and our rights as Black Americans were being trampled upon by racist white people at the time.

What's so racist about the NAACP..???..And what is so racist about Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton..??...I will agree that the "New" Black Panther party is off the chain...However you and I both know that if and when you experience racism who are you going to call...Who will help you fight that racism..??..The whole NAACP is racist arguement sounds like it's coming from a white supremacisy group..I cant tell you how to think but if you go to the Black community with the attitude that a group that will fight for them is racist because of that fight ...Black people will not respect you...Black people are very loyal and very trusting to any group that they feel has their back..Also in order for the Black community to prosper we need a balance of liberal and conservative values..Too much of either solves nothing..

Thomas,

Booker T. Washington once wrote that, "There are negroes that that fight for civil rights because that is their industry.  They don't want change for their people; only their jobs as negro activist."  His sentiment is that they fight to keep their jobs as activists, not for the betterment of Black America.  Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson only stand behind liberal causes and only have the backs of Democratic figures.  Regardless of what we think of Herman Cain, they were remarkably silent.  Sharpton and Jackson are defined by their endless fight is for entitlements and victimology.  Therefore, by definition, they cannot represent me.

The NAACP are emblematic of our problem as a Black community.  They do ambitiously support Black communities, but they offer all of their efforts liberal leaders and the Democratic Party.  Thomas, again you are right, exclusively right leaning OR left leaning goals and pursuits is horrible for Black America.  It is pointless.  That is why it is bad that the NAACP NEVER supports Black leaders or politicians that are conservative.

I must admit that I do not have many liberal traits, but I have been an advocate in the past for Affirmative Action [no longer, but...once in my youth].  When implemented, it was necessary to addres past injustices.  I give this example because Black America is not a culture like any other here in America.  We needed the liberal concept of Affirmative Action in the 70's and 80's, but we need the conservative concepts of economic autonomy and self-sustaining community prosperity today.

We are a strange American species and need specific goals to match our efforts.

Take it Slow my Bro,

Grant

Grant -

You keep saying that conservative concepts are the economic answer to our problems...What concerpts..?? ..Reagan's trickle down theory..Bush's war spending and tax breaks for the rich..??..And if you think Affirmative Action is no longer needed just look at the high Black unemployment rate...Why is it that in every educational level , Black unemployment is higher then white unemployment..??..Black conservatives can't avoid this forever..Also you mentioned that the NAACP never supports a conservative candidate...That's interesting since the GOP does not reach out to the Black community and after having 6 Black members in congress for the last 100 years tells me that the GOP really doesn't care about the Black commuinity but only a small fraction of the Black community to keep the illusion of diversity...Jackie Robinsin , a Black republican stated this very fact during the 60s and present day Black conservatives such as Samuel Newby echoed the same fact..So why in the world should a group like the NAACP even consider supporting a conservative candidate..???..You missed the fact that there is a reason for the non-support of the GOP in the Black community and you can't keep crying "liberalism" as the source of that reason..

And say what you want about Jesse and Sharpton but there are at least on the "front line" ...Yet ,  getting paid to bash  Black people is a job that some Black conservatives have..You mean to tell me that you agree with idiots like Jesse Peterson , David Manning , Kevin Jackson , Lloyd Marcus , and Francis Rice...??? They do nothing but parrot anti-Black rantings of white supremacy...And the question I asked still goes unanswered...Who is going to help us fight racism..?? ..And with the election of Barack Obama the nazis types are coming out more then ever... Just look at who is defending people like George Zimmerman and Rush Limpballs...???...who is orchestrating voter suppresion..??...The NAACP is not your enemy....Because another question is ...who benefits when you view them as your enemy....????..We need a balanced approach when we choose to find a solution to our problems....meaning conservative , liberal and independent ideas are needed..If not , nothing will get done...

This has been a great discussion. Movements start just like this discussion. The trick is to harness the existing energy. These are political questions and can be solved by plain and simple political action. The group must coalesce around an issue that demands an immediate response from the status quo, reactionaries that they are. The most important social issue of our day is educational equality. Let's demand better educational options for our children. If people see us standing and fighting for something they will judge us by our work. It is a fact that most African American support school choice.

I'm not sure School choice is  the answer ...All it does is create a fake period of elitism..But what happens to the rest of the students that don't get a voucher or doesn't get picked to go to a better school..??..While some students will benefit from school choice , mosdt students will be left behind and the problems will only continue...It's funny that you don't hear Asian or Indian children worrying about school choice that's because the parents MAKE sure their children excel in school..No matter what school they attend..So if we are going to do something about education "WE" are the ones that have to solve it..I will be honest , that tasl seems almopst impossible..Why a good number of our people do not embrace education is a question that I can't answer...BUT..we must find an answer and solve this dilemma quickly........
