As Social Media is the social norm in today's society, I, along with many of my cohorts from undergrad, took to Twitter to release our thoughts and complaints about America during the Election Season. I used that avenue to proudly voice my disdain with President Obama and the direction of America.
Of course I received backlash, vitriol, etc. in return. I even lost followers on Twitter because of my "extreme" tweets. Needless to say, my tweets were not offensive...they were merely facts that the left refuses to acknowledge. Similarly last night during the State of the Union Address, a friend of mine referred to Senator Rubio in a derogatory manner, yet said Sen. Rubio was "bashing" President Obama.
I tried to explain that bashing is along the lines of disrespect and Sen. Rubio did not stoop to that level. Sen. Rubio did challenge the President's initiatives and performance. As many Republicans know, how dare we challenge The Great One!
I seriously worry for America's future. We have become a country where we encourage diversity, while delivering scathing attacks to those that carry different political views. We have become a country where we replaced prayer with contraceptives in schools. We have become a country where we forgot about our predecessors giving their lives so we could be afforded the opportunity to create better lives for ourselves and in turn, have supported the legislation that continues to keep our relatives, friends, and neighbors unemployed.
If I can see these things, why can't they?
