Black Republicans

On a Mission to Raise the Value of Black America's Political Capital

What should the GOP do to get more Blacks to join them?

There was a time when Blacks were staunch members of the Republican Party, until the "New Deal" of the 1930s made them weak and dependent on the government to take of them. What do you think should be done to educate liberal Blacks about the GOP?

"The energy regulations, building regulations, health insurance regulations, and the entire HOST of other regulations that a business must go through to start a business and maintain one, that's called the RED TAPE. A particular regulation from the new healthcare law that got eliminated from the law, required enhanced reporting by businesses when they spent over $600 or so at a vendor."

The law got thrown out with bi-partisan support so what are you whining about..??..Is that the only regu;lation you can come up with...One that has been eliminated..??...What you also fail to understand is that most - around 75-80% of business owners don't think that regulations are a problem...As a matter of fact some small business owners have said that regulations help level the playing field with large corperations....Maybe you should talk to people that actually own a business and learn something instead of listening to a bunch of right wing rich guys....By the way...did you try to ask any of the people that live areas where the environment is threated if youj could drink the water they don't drink...???,,Let's be honest..there are some regulations like the $600 law that need to be thrown out ..Some that have been around for decades but are they hurting businesses to the part of going out of business...???..The answer to that is no...it is the customer base that makes or breaks any business....

So I'll try this agin....what regulations caused business to fail and  what regulations have hurt job creation...

Jack,

From your horrible grammar, punctuation and seemingly difficult ability to comprehend a detailed response, I'm starting to think you're a troll, so this will be my final response to you. After all, this is a black republican discussion forum that believes in free markets, capitalism and liberty, and yet you are here spewing firstly left-wing rhetoric and secondly immature name-calling to those you can't accept are just smarter and wiser than you. It's also difficult to read through your horrible lack of sentence structure, have you ever heard of a paragraph and a spell checker? Instead of trolling a discussion forum maybe you should spend time working on your punctuation :).

You remind of the college professor in the movie "Back to School"...I lot of useless book theories but no real experience..Seed money can come in the form of a loan from a bank..That's how most businesses are started and some "seed" money is very minimal..Berry Gordy borrowed $600 dollars to start Motown....other businessman started with nothing and built their businesses from the ground up....My point is that job creation is a by-product of customer demand....That's what you fail to understand...

I'm not sure how old you are Jack, but you seemingly can't comprehend a very detailed response. Never at one point in this thread did I say customer demand didn't matter, not once. As a result my only conclusion is that you just could not comprehend my previous response OR you're just trolling. Which is it?

I had a real estate menagement company years ago

Really? You can't even spell "real estate management" so I'm wondering how successful you were in that venture?

.....and I didn't have a lot of seed money but I was good at making deals and using "other peoples money"..Now when the economy started to turn I got out of that business...WHY..??..Because the customer base was losing their purchasing power and that was starting to affect my business.....

Lol, righttt Jack :). You can't even form a comprehensive and decently written argument on a discussion forum, I doubt very seriously that you had any ability to structure ANY financial transaction. But let you tell it you made a million dollars right :)

By the way , there are many successful business people that don't adhere to the notion of taking an economics class...If the "professor" or in your case "fake professor" knew anything about economics he or she would be making money with their own business...That's like relying on a broker to invest "your" money...If the broker knew so much he would be a trader...think about it...So your argument makes no sense because you again fail to understnad realty..and it does not matter how many consultants you have or how much money you have...If you're customers can't afford your product you will go out of buisness....thus ended that lesson...

Your point about a flat tax is also weak...the math does not add up and what's also interesting is that some communist countries have used the flat tax....I guess socialism is ok when it's kept quiet....

Yep, and with that being said I'm going to end my responses to you. Go troll another forum :)

Nice attempt at a white flag "john boy" but as usual you failed to address the point..which was that Pell grants should not be cut  and that rich people do not create jobs..Jobs are createdf and business are sustained from customer demand that was my point all that other nonsense you posted has little weight if CUSTOMERS CANNOT AFFORD YOUR PRODUCT OR SERVICE...Therefore when the middle class is under attack and the upper class is getting richer businesses will suffer........I proved that to you several times but if you want to run and hide like a little school girl then go for it...

Sorry about the spelling but if that's the only thing you can whine about then maybe you can't dispute what I posted...That's cool , being that you are a parrot I'm not surprised...By the way , I was successful enough to know when to get out....

Another thing... I am a fair man so I'll try this again..maybe you grew a pair over the weekend...but I doubt it...

What regulations caused business to fail and  what regulations have hurt job creation..????

Joke ..I mean John -

"After all, this is a black republican discussion forum that believes in free markets, capitalism and liberty, and yet you are here spewing firstly left-wing rhetoric and secondly immature name-calling to those you can't accept are just smarter and wiser than you. .."

I know what kind of discussion this is..It is a discussion about what is true , what is false and why Blackj people do not join the GOP....Just because this is a Black republican site does not mean I have to agree with everything republican...Remember Black republicans are not respected that much in the Black commumnity and when parrots like you cannot answer a simple question , how can you expect to earn any respect..??..I rasied several questions and you have ran from each one , thereofre a person that is independent might think that.... 1) you are hiding something and acting like a sellout...2) you are not aware of the facts ..or ..3) all of the above...

I don't back away from what I believe , however if you can PROVE your point with FACTS my belief in something will change..Black republicans have to be HONEST  with Black people if they want to be respected by the Black people...Now  when you understand what that means you let me know...

Grant you are (as we use to say ) RIGHT ON. leave out the party stuff we party too much (Jazz in the park)  You know the first thing I would like to do is address the barriers as i see them;

PRIMARY BARRIERS

  1. Welfare recipients
  2. Offenders in Adjudicated Individuals
  3. Single Parent(s)
  4. Economically Disadvantaged
  5. High School Drop-outs
  6. Homeless
  7. Handicapped
  8. Drug and Alcohol Addiction

SECONDARY BARRIERS

  1. Transportation
  2. Reading Level below 7th grade
  3. Health Problems
  4. Lack of family support
  5. Lack of significant/positive work history
  6. Child Care
  7. Experiencing personal problems
  8. Lack of vocational skills
  9. Lacks appropriate clothing or tools
  10. Lacks Diploma/GED
  11. Unstable living arrangements

If we really want to set and agenda and look to other to join in our struggle lets start with the basic.   I would love to see those who use this form that are running for office locally and nationally to join in and give their views on why they are running and what they see as Life issues.  I too feel throwing money at a problem is not the solution.  Most of the programs that are out there now have no accountability.  They are teaching our people to become dependent on the system.   The system is the pimp in our communities. We are training our young people to look for something for nothing. I get so tried of excuses of why we can't do this or why we can't do that or better yet "MAST-SA DON'T WANT US THINKING LIKE THAT"  IT IS TIME THAT WE PUT THAT OLD NEGRO TO REST. Once more this form is called

REPUBLICANS FOR BLACK EMPOWERMENT........................ Once more I am asking what is the plan?

IT IS TIME

Seems like the GOP is being taken over by white supremacists...

So...what are we going to do about this...???

How about STOP THE RACISM.....!!!!!

The Constitutional Conservatives, a right-wing Republican organization based in Greene County, Virginia, published some incendiary rhetoric in its White House Watchdog column as part of the organization's March newsletter. Editor Ponch McPhee pens two articles in the newsletter, one by name, titled "Returning the Republic to the People," in which he emboldens readers with what appears to be quotes from Thomas Jefferson and James Madison mixed with his own declarations claiming that "terror is upon the land and tyranny is grasped within its left hand."

In the other, he advises readers to prepare to defend their liberty with directives that seem to suggest he is eager to react to the outcome of November's election with an armed rebellion, and he encourages his followers to do the same. Excerpts from his column are below:

We have before us a challenge to remove an ideologue unlike any-thing world history has ever witnessed or recognized.

An individual who has come to power within a Nation which yields it's strength over the entire world.

An elected leader who shuns biblical praise, handicaps economic ability, disrespects the honor of earned military might.

In the coming days and weeks ~ we the people must come to grasp as a common force, our very soul's, that our future as a sovereign nation is indeed at risk.

If every single individual that you know, would contact 25 other individuals ~ we can make a difference that will be heard across the Commonwealth and in Washington.

The ultimate task for the people is to remain vigilant and aware ~ that the government, their government is out of control, and this moment, this opportunity, must not be forsaken, must not escape us, for we shall not have any coarse but armed revolution should we fail with the power of the vote in November ~ This Republic cannot survive for 4 more years under-Neath this political socialist ideologue.

The newsletter also includes a timeline of what the organization calls President Obama's 25 "most Biblically hostile" moments. The newsletter claims that the president "studiously avoids making religious references in his Thanksgiving speech," in 2011 and in 2010 and argue Obama "begins deliberately omitting the phrase "the Creator" when quoting the Declaration of Independence."

Abortion is a choice....Living with racism is not... If the GOP had any brains it would STOP THE RACISM...That's why the GOP is not supported fully by any people of color..Let's be honest about this and stop ignoring the real problem..Simply put...A Black person pr person of color will vote for a sinner before he votes for a racist which he deems correctly as a devil...Think about it..

Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote in his
autobiography:

"The Republican Party geared its appeal and program to racism, reaction,
and extremism."

That was his description of the 1964 Republican National Convention. He also
referred to the Republican convention as "the frenzied wedding at the Cow
Palace of the KKK with the radical right."

The switch during the New Deal and weakness/dependence on government isn't the whole story.  Almost 30% of blacks changed their vote between 1960 and 1964.  Indian Americans are the wealthiest group in the United States and have the lowest percentage of single parent families.  In the 2008, election 94% of South Asians voted for Obama.  http://www.sajaforum.org/2009/05/2008-election-south-asians-voted-o...

The GOP needs to emphasize the role of religion and religious freedom in civil rights movements. Very religious blacks vote conservative.  The president of the California Black Republican Council is a pastor.  Both Michael Steele and Clarence Thomas were temporarily in seminary.  There is a movie: For Greater Glory coming out.  Some wealthy conservatives should produce a movie that highlights the role of the black churches and moral struggles for Pastor Martin Luther King.  Perhaps call it "Strength to Love" after his book.  And intertwine that story with the story of William Wilberforce (who was going to be a pastor until convinced by John Newton to work in Congress.  John Newton ended his slave trade when he was afraid of dying and meeting his maker).  George Washington was the only founding father to free his slaves at his death, and he had a vision of Mary on Valley Forge. Abraham Lincoln said of Harriet Beecher Stowe, "so you are the little woman who wrote the book that started this great war."  Harriet's father was a preacher,  who became president of Lane Theological Seminary.  The first court case to overturn laws against interracial marriage was not Loving vs. Virginia.  It was Perez v. Sharp in 1948, and it was fought on grounds of religious freedom for Catholics since Catholicism did not prohibit interracial relationships.   Why don't people understand the connection between moral values (religion) and civil rights?  To be ahead of your time in moral values and not succumb to peer pressure, you need a strong foundation of morality/theology - you can't just do whatever you feel like.  One party is working to end religious freedom, and that party is NOT the GOP.

The black genocide billboards are working so they need to be scaled up and expanded.  http://www.lifenews.com/2012/05/18/congressional-black-caucus-holds...   See how the CBC is discussing strategies to battle the "genocide awareness" billboard campaigns.  You don't battle campaigns that aren't having an impact! Lastly, the GOP needs to clarify the connections between the housing bubble and the crash of our economy as well as the connections between inflation, the deficit, and economic growth.

It's still a choice that the mother makes so that's my point and it is not a choice for the father who may want the child..Abortion can be eliminated with a change in life conditions , but these white supremacist racist republicans will continue hating YOU no matter what happens to them ...good or bad..And you are very naive if you think that the GOP has an inside track on moral issues. They are the most corrupt , racist , murderes on the planet..Look at the Iraq war who lied to the country and caused it..Look at Katrina and the way republicans celebrated the dimise of the 9th ward. And look at the number of republicans engaging in sexual abuse cases...

-- Republican candidate Richard Gardner admitted to molesting his two daughters.

Republican Councilman and former Marine Jack W. Gardner was convicted of molesting a 13-year old girl.

Republican County Commissioner Merrill Robert Barter pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual contact and assault on a teenage boy.

Republican City Councilman Fred C. Smeltzer, Jr. pleaded no contest to raping a 15 year-old girl and served 6-months in prison.

Republican legislator Keith Westmoreland was arrested on seven felony counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition to girls under the age of 16 (i.e. exposing himself to children).

Republican anti-abortion activist John Allen Burt was found guilty of molesting a 15-year old girl.

Republican County Councilman Keola Childs pleaded guilty to molesting a male child.

Republican activist John Butler was charged with criminal sexual assault on a teenage girl.

Republican Party leader Paul Ingram pleaded guilty to six counts of raping his daughters and served 14 years in federal prison.

Republican election board official Kevin Coan was sentenced to two years probation for soliciting sex over the internet from a 14-year old girl.

Republican politician Andrew Buhr was charged with two counts of first degree sodomy with a 13-year old boy.

Republican Congressman Dan Crane had sex with a female minor working as a congressional page.

Republican activist and Christian Coalition leader Beverly Russell admitted to an incestuous relationship with his step daughter.

Republican Judge Ronald C. Kline pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography on his home computer.

Republican congressman and anti-gay activist Robert Bauman was charged with having sex with a 16-year-old boy he picked up at a gay bar.

If you need more just let me know...The point is the GOP has no moral high ground to stand on and when you factor in the intense racism that the GOP practices it is easy to understand why most people of color don'y support them..That is if you can be honest about it...

Also did you know about this..??

The Republican National Committee's health insurance plan covers elective abortion - a procedure the party's own platform calls "a fundamental assault on innocent human life."

Federal Election Commission Records show the RNC purchases its insurance from Cigna. Two sales agents for the company said that the RNC's policy covers elective abortion.

So tell me again - how is it acceptable for a political party to lobby against a policy they themselves employ?

-------------------

I don't support Abortion or Gay Marraige but they are small issues especially when you use a little common sense and realize that there are some Gay republicans and some aborted republicans...

Abortion is a choice....Living with racism is not... .

For a mother, abortion is a choice.  For the unborn child, dying by having forceps bash his skull in or being chemically poisoned is not a choice.  For a white person, supporting white supremacy is a choice.  For the black person, living in a world where white supremacists have some social power is not a choice.

If you support abortion, you support the principle that stronger humans can kill weaker ones if they don't want them around.  Now Alveda King, niece of Rev. Martin Luther King, has made the "choice" to abort two human beings of her own, but she still considers her “choice” to be “murder.”  She says, "And certainly Trayvon Martin, a young man cut down in his prime.  I would say because of my ministry ‘aborted late,’ a late abortion now his dreams are dead.”   Let’s make sure that the most fundamental and basic right, the right to life, is always protected!

Freakanomics argues that legalizing abortion cut crime.  Howard Stern jokes: "What do you call an abortion clinic in Harlem? Crimestoppers!" When Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, set up her "Negro Project," she was quoted as saying, "We don't want the word to get out that we want to exterminate the Negro population."  "Birth control itself, often denounced as a violation of natural law, is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or those who will become defectives."    And notice that Margaret Sanger was an atheist and that George Zimmerman is a Democrat.

(Quoting from Issues4Life) : In 2005, according to National Vital Statistics Report: Vol. 58, No. 8, released December 23rd, 2009, 452,000 black babies died from induced abortions.

Separately, there were 292,808 Black deaths from all other causes (excluding abortion).

Altogether there were a total of 744,080 Black deaths in 2005.

Look at the math:

  587,000 Live Black births

- 744,808 Black deaths

-157,808 (Deficit of Black Life)"

90% of babies with Down’s Syndrome are aborted.  44% of black pregnancies were aborted in 2005.   Visit http://www.issues4life.org/ to get the perspective of a black Republican on this issue.  It doesn’t make sense to be against anti-black racism but be unconcerned about the fact that abortion has eugenics roots and that the federal government is helping to fund the immense number of black babies being aborted.  The way to fight crime is through scaling UP projects such as the highly successful Best Men project or the Best Friends projects, not through abortion.  http://www.bestfriendsfoundation.org/BMWhatisBM2.html   And surprise, surprise the founder of the Best Friends project was a conservative who served in the George Bush administration, because the GOP is the only party defending family values these days while for the DNC – a traditional marriage, a gay marriage, a single parent household all have the same moral value.

This is a good question and I come across opportunities to educate liberal Blacks almost every day. I am almost completely surrounded by a sea of Democrats, a large number of them African American. Starting with family and friends I survived the Obama Mania that swept the Black community and helped sweep Obama to victory. It wasn't easy but we stood fast. Now with the next election upon us, in hindsight the community has had almost four years to observe Obama in office. I simply point out all the examples where the Black community blindly supports the Democratic Party such as Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, fill in the blank big city, and you see the result of Democratic Party/liberal failure. Most thinkiing people eventually connect the dots.
