Why I'm Here

The reason that I joined this network is to try to gain insight into why blacks become Republicans. I was just elected Republican Executive Committee Chair of my county and part of my job will be outreach. Currently, we have only 17 of 56 precincts represented, so you see the need to recruit precinct leaders.

Not sure what I expected, but reading through the posts, the rhetoric of the mainstream media is evident - that Beck and Limbaugh are racist - and it surprises and disheartens.

As you know, the GOP as a whole is in disarray. My county GOP has become a social club with endless luncheons and dinners, where the choir talks amongst themselves. When the past Chair gave me the "stuff" that went with the job, there was An Open Letter to the Republican Party that said that, though we perform charitable works as individuals, we don't do it in the name of the party. It continues saying that many in the minority community don't respond to Reagan's assertion that "the best anti-poverty program is a job" because they have not had any real-life experience that shows them how to get a good job - that perhaps we could hold workshops on how to write a resume, how to interview for a job, how to keep a job, etc. This must be done in the party name.

This was the example that the letter gave - I'm sure there are other ways to reach out. Frankly, the GOP is scared of it's own shadow right now, having run a Democrat-lite candidate that could not articulate core conservative principles, because he didn't feel them in his gut. The choice was absolutely clear to those who are engaged, but there are so many who are not.

Ms. Ellis I plan on being at the Jan. 16th OCREC meeting and am looking forward to talking with you. As far as what you have seen from Mr. Thomas it is typical strategy against Repubs. call them racist and they shut up. That is the wrong approach and we as a party need to shine the light on the "Sambos" and "Quimbos" that the dems use to try to keep us in line. Incidentally Sambo and Quimbo are slave characters from "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and performed the duties of overseers and disciplinarians of the other slaves. Alas Jack is a lost one and can not be saved do not take anything he has to say with any measure of attention.

It's really sad to hear from some Black people that still cling to the apron strings of white supremacy..Voter suppression on Black voters by the GOP is no secret and only a Black person that is a complete idiot or slave will continue to deny this fact...but I guess you need to be humbled on public access instead of being man enough to admit the truth...

To: "Jacki-Oh No" the reason I don't respond instantly to your rants is because 1. I wanted to read the links/articles you posted which you purported proved GOP voter suppression...NOT! and 2. It gives me a chance to take a step back to see the immature hatred filled individual you are. I read everyone of your so called proof sources and everyone that you posted was a liberal blog, moreover the only "conservative" source you had was Real Clear Politics. Even this article was simply a rerun of an article written by two writers who happen to have written the article for ....wait for it ....The Huffington Post, which we all know is a bastion of far right ideology. It goes to reason that such a story with overwhelming proof would have been run non stop by the main stream (gotcha)media but it wasn't because it is not true. The only voters that were truly suppressed were those military voters who the dems and repubs know vote conservative. Your facts are just that, your facts and like all liberal canon fodder you expect others to do what you do which is take the word of someone without checking the source. It also begs to reason that since voter suppression is fraud that the "Justice Department"(loosely termed) would be all over this witch hunt especially with that "see nothing, hear nothing, say nothing" Eric Holder head they have.
