Black Republicans

On a Mission to Raise the Value of Black America's Political Capital

As intelligent and charismatic as President Obama is,why isn't he a Republican? He was well educated at Harvard Law School, and yet he is a member of a party that considers educated African-Americans "uncle toms" and "sellouts". Democrats have limited education and rely on the system to take care of them..so what do you think?

Natalie,

Your premise is flawed because your believe Pres. Obama is from the Dixiecrat Generation.  No...he's from a more insidious generation.  He is from the Nanny-State Intellectual Generation.  Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Colbert, Oberman....etc., all believe that they know what's best for society without ever consulting society.  Amazingly enough, Pres. Obama believes in the Nanny-State and his philosophy precludes him following conservative principles.  Unfortunately, it's his self-professed Big Brain and Ivy League pedigree that set him apart from the rest of our Black America.

Rudyard Kipling wrote in his poem, regarding a quality of manhood, that a man might "...walk with Kings, yet keep his common touch."

President Obama, after his elitest friends, radical training, and credo of victimology framed the man that he is, it's no mystery why he is as he is.  We forget that when President Obama was a Illinois State Senator, that he was at risk of losing his seat because poor Blacks thought he was not addressing their needs and out of touch with Black America.  So....the then State Senator changed his Districts boundaries to include more affluent Blacks and Whites.  Well, who actually is selling out and is he now in the White House?

Obama is not a republican because like most Black Americans he does not share the current racist climate coming from the GOP...And the GOP has done everything in their power to insult tje middle class and the minority communities...Look the "stolelection of 2000" where thousands of Black voters were denied the right to ...look Katrina where rerpublican officials applauded the demise of the 9th ward...look at the tea party madness that served as a recruiting station for white supramacist groups...Listen to the silence of Black conservatives when acts of racism at performed...Look at the lies about MLK being a republican...Look at the racist comments from Limpballs , Hannity , Beck , Breitbrat and other rignt wong racist that some Black conservatives defend...And look at the two pitiful Black GOP members of congress that have no voice , no power and no respect from the Black community...Now if you were running for president and you are Black do you honestly think you have a chance of winning...???...Ask Herman Cain and Allen Keyes...they were treated like "rent-a-knee-grows"...not serious candidates......let's be honest about this...

"Senator Obama" was not going to lose his seat....and Presidfent Obama will still get at least 90% -95% of the Black vote..The GOP with it's racist antics are the blame for that....be honest...

i agree but president obama is a devolt socialist which is the same as being a communist which is a form of slavery but sad to say, most african american are too blind to see that this is the direction  they are going and they don't even know it because for years we have been brainwashed by so called black leaders who are telling us that the replubican party is racists and those especially blacks who join the party are sellouts, uncle toms, oreos, tolkens, and traiters.

Thomas,

Though racism exists, there are concepts and precepts that occur outside of the realm of racism.  Pres. Obama's politics were not forge because of his race, but inspite of racism.  I do appreciate that you did not make this a personal attack, but this is where you and I profoundly disagree.  Pres. Obama made a conscious choice of Progressivism and the Democratis Party.  Black people are inherently conservative in our lives and advances.  90% of Black America will vote for Pres.Obama because he's Black.  I will vote against him because he's politically wrong..... FOR ME.  So ultimately we, Black America, are the racists because we will exercise our power for the sake of race.

It wasn't right when Bull Connors did it 50 years ago.  It's wrong today.

Hays,

Thomas is right when he says that Republicans caused a decisively, monolithic Democrat voting block.  If the Nixon's of the sixties, had followed the push for Civil Rights like the Republicans of the fifties had, the Black vote would not have swung away from the Republican Party.  But we are debating instances that are now "out of the box" by 50 to 60 years.

You are right that Pres. Obama wants a scheme that look more like Socialism than a Representative government.  It is our responsibility to make sure that we are represented adequately by whom ever stands in the cut for us.  Democrat or Republican.  I am conservative and register Republican, but I refuse to cast my vote for "anything" that says that they have my interest and show opposite.
