Who is Keisha Morrisey
A jacktress of all trades, I am of the original Harlem Hip Hop culture and a pioneer of rap music. As a teenager, I began advising and promoting concerts, dance entertainment and fashion shows at a local night club in Harlem. Acts included Afrika Bambaatta, Doug E Fresh, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Kids at Work/ Teddy Riley, New Edition and Roxanne Shante.
I am the former co-manager and producer of rap artists Mobb Deep's career, and I was very instrumental in their development. I was involved through the recording of the rap duo's debut album entitled "Juvenile Hell."
I have hosted several shows and have worked on many other major events and in film, television, and music productions. I produced The Miss Nubian Teen Pageant and Talent Competition and several special and sports events. I have worked with several other celebrities, luminaries, performing artists, and professional athletes.
I was a Hip Hop Journalist for Around The Way Connection, Beat Down Magazine, and One Nut Network, and the Host and VJ of a dance music video show entitled Video House Party. I am a radio personality (MC MODESTY) formerly of WCDX- Power 92 FM, Richmond Virginia, and WVST- Virginia State University, and I am also licensed with the Federal Communications Commission.
I was the Republican candidate for New York State Assembly in 2002, a candidate for New York City Council in 2003, and a candidate for District Leader, Judicial and State Committee Woman in 2005 representing Central Harlem. I am a member of the Harlem Republican Club, Harlem Woman International, Harlem Womans Republican Club, House of Labeija, Inner Cities Woman Committee, MSTOA/AEO, New York Young Republican Club, New York State Young Republicans and Young Republican National Federation, Washington DC, Order of the Eastern Star (OES, AM & FM,I.F.M).
