The NAACP and the Tea Party

Hello,

I checked out the racist pictures (proported to be from Tea Parties) on the NAACP website and they were awful. I do not know if the protestors (with racially charged signs) were in fact part of the Tea Party movement, but if so they must be condemned. and I condemn all forms of racism, even when voiced or exhibited by a Black person.

Yet, it is unfortunate that the NAACP pointed out only one organization to censor as racist. Vice President Biden agreed that the Tea Party is not racist in itself and stated that the President also does not believe that this is true. BUT I am reminded of the scripture that says that judgment must BEGIN at the house of God. We must be righteous ourselves and give no reason for others not to truly HEAR the Tea Party message. But that message must come from a people who judge themselves FIRST. Our message is a good and noble message. We would be better off as a country if we had and I quote:

Limited Government

-As our founding fathers recognized limited government is necessary to protect the liberties of the people.

Fiscal Responsibility

-Government at all levels must live within its means. To saddle future generations with the crushing burden of our excess spending is unconscionable.

Personal Responsibility

-Liberty is unsustainable without responsibility. Each citizen must take responsibility for the consequences of his or her own actions while respecting the rights and dignity of others.

The Rule of Law

-Consistent, independent and uniform application of the law is critical to a free and prosperous society.

National Sovereignty

-We must maintain a strong national defense, effective security for our borders, and sole control over our land and our laws.

I would hate to see this message contaminated with the mixed message of racism.

I am aware of the tactics used to isolate, demonize and slowly pick off the strongest from your opponent's ranks so that one wins at ALL cost. I believe this is being attempted as a tactic to use against the Tea Party. Unfortunately, we have to deal with it head on. But in doing so we purify OUR ranks by making sure that the message is not lost in the hearts and minds of the American people. We MUST win in November. Our future as a country hangs in the balance.

As a white man from Northern VA, I do not believe the Tea Party to be racist as a group, but the 80/20 rule "may" apply. I pray that it does not and this post I just read was Patriotic Poetry at its best.

I believe we share the same thinking in regards to what the NAACP was compared to what it is today. Forgive my manner of speach. I did not intend to be offensive. I understand that the signs may be fraud but since I could not state that as a fact, I gave the NAACP the benefit of the doubt. I know. .... But my point is that the label was a political move to marginalize the Tea Party movement. For that, it is really unfortunate that they began so nobly and will end in a political mess of their creation.

Every one of those sign carriers were not of the tea party. My research into that lead me to declare it a fraud. This was done for prapagada purposes. I'm a black man who has been emmersed in this movement before it was name. The only racism that you can find is manufactured. Trust me, it's a dirty attack on the movement. This is what happens when one side is unable to make a logical arguement based on facts and logic. Don't fall for it.
